Desktop Linux Summit

The Desktop Linux Summit was held in San Diego, California.

I participated in a panel discussion about the future of Linux on the desktop moderated by Chris Pirillo of TechTV. The other participants were Holger Dyroff from SuSE and Kevin Carmony, President and COO of Lindows.Com.

We each started out with a short presentation about what our "company" was doing. I went third, and so felt able to differentiate Debian effectively from what Holger and Kevin had already presented about their respective commercial distributions.

Lots of interesting conversations with attendees during the rest of the event at the Debian booth which Mark Wolfe and Michael Cardenas helped me to man.
